Overview
The white-field flag of the "Liwa al-Imam al-Hussein" or "The Imam al-Hussein Brigade). Its logo occupies the top two-thirds of the flag. The double-pointed sword is the "Zulfiqar" sword which identifies this is a Shia-Muslim militia. The golden dome with the red-war flag covers the supposed tomb of Imam Hussain who died at the Battle of Karbala, Iraq (c. 680). The top white/green/black lines read: "Liwa al-Imam al-Hussain" or "The Imam al-Hussein Brigade". The bottom right white slogan reads: "Labik Ya Hussain" or "At your command/service, oh, Hussain", while the white slogan at the bottom left reads: "Labik Ya Zaynab". As this militia mostly fought alongside the Syrian Army's 4th Division, it has also been called the "Lions of the Fourth Division" or "Maher al-Assad's Men." The Syrian 4th Division was in charge of wages, armaments, and training. This brigade has affiliation with the Iranian "Quds Force" and the Lebanese "Hezbollah". Flag c. 2017.
